Description
The problem is with the weapon dock. There is no way to check if you have some gun without trying to switch to it. If you do the dock appears but you don't need it anymore as you already know if you have the gun.
Also extra moving elements can draw useless attention.
Making it always enabled can be a solution but permanently occupying horizontal space is bad too IMO.

A compromise would be to always show the weapons panel with a small amount of alpha when idle.
Implementation idea: value hud_panel_weapons_timeout_effect in the range 0 - 1 means panel fades out until it reaches that alpha value.

I don't really consider this important, perhaps we can do just fading though (there is already code for that), but later.
